Unveiling spatiotemporal human flow patterns through the potential landscape
& 人流データを活用した社会経済分析の展望

概要：
1) Understanding human mobility is essential for addressing challenges in urban planning, transportation systems, public health, and epidemic control. However, the complexity of mobility data poses challenges in extracting meaningful insights. This talk explores spatiotemporal human flow patterns using potential landscapes derived from Hodge-Kodaira decomposition of origin-destination matrices. The analysis covers comparisons of human flow during morning versus daytime trips, weekday versus weekend travel, and pre- versus during COVID-19 periods. By applying principal component analysis (PCA) to the potential landscape, key factors driving the temporal evolution of human mobility patterns are identified, offering new insights into the dynamics of both regular and disrupted urban movement.

2) 近年、大規模人流データを用いた研究が多岐にわたり行われている。研究の初期段階では、膨大なデータ量とその詳細性を活かし、それまで知られていなかった人流の性質が解明された。また、データ分析に刺激を受け、人流モデルなど、理論面でも発展がみられた。その後、人流データ研究は、応用範囲を広げ、社会問題に対する示唆を提供するための研究へと広がりを見せている。本講演では、近年における人流研究の展開を概観する。また、既存のデータの使用に留まらず、関連するデータを収集することによって可能となる分析を紹介する。
